Griffin Catalyst Founder Ken Griffin Makes Landmark Gift to Theodore Roosevelt Presidential Library
The Theodore Roosevelt Presidential Library today announced a landmark $26 million gift from Griffin Catalyst Founder Ken Griffin to support completion of the library in Medora, North Dakota. In recognition of his generosity, the library’s west wing will be named the Kenneth C. Griffin West Wing.
Opening on July 4, 2026—the nation’s semiquincentennial—the Theodore Roosevelt Presidential Library will serve as a hub for civic education, leadership, and conservation, honoring the legacy of America’s 26th president. The Kenneth C. Griffin West Wing will serve as the primary point of arrival for visitors and house permanent and temporary exhibition spaces.
“In our nation's 250-year history, few Americans have embodied the spirit of leadership as fully as Theodore Roosevelt. His vision, courage, and commitment to public service left an enduring mark on our nation. I am honored to support this landmark institution as it educates and inspires future generations of Americans to lead with purpose and strengthen the ideals that define our country.”
The gift reflects Ken’s longstanding commitment to expanding access to American history and strengthening civic education. Through Griffin Catalyst’s Freedom & Democracy initiatives, he has supported institutions and programs that help Americans engage more deeply with the ideas, leaders, and founding principles that shaped the nation.
“We are deeply grateful to Ken Griffin for his extraordinary generosity and visionary support,” said Edward F. O’Keefe, CEO of the Theodore Roosevelt Presidential Library. “The Kenneth C. Griffin West Wing will be a vital component of our campus, allowing us to expand civic education.”
The Theodore Roosevelt Presidential Library is the latest in a series of civic and historical initiatives Griffin Catalyst has supported ahead of America’s 250th anniversary. Together, these efforts are helping expand public access to the people, documents, and ideas that shaped the United States while inspiring a new generation of civic engagement and leadership.
