Ken Griffin Helps Power MrBeast's #TeamWater Campaign

Ken Griffin has donated $2.25 million to #TeamWater, the viral clean-water campaign launched by YouTube creators MrBeast and Mark Rober in partnership with global nonprofit WaterAid. This represents the largest gift to date in support of the campaign’s goal of raising $40 million by August 31 to provide safe drinking water to over 2 million people for decades to come.

Led largely by young people and fueled by more than 3,000 content creators worldwide, #TeamWater shows how grassroots energy can combine with large-scale philanthropy to solve urgent global challenges. One in 10 people around the world lack access to clean water, and by 2040 as many as 4.5 billion could face water scarcity. But the crisis is solvable.

#TeamWater is funding innovative, sustainable, community-driven solutions — building networks of pipes, purifying salty water, and harvesting rainwater in communities across Africa, Asia, Latin America, and the United States. The campaign has already delivered over 6 million “years” of clean water, powered by millions of small donations and now supercharged by Ken’s leadership gift. Just $1 can give one person clean water for a year — proof that collective action, at any scale, can change lives.
