Ken Griffin Supports Nationwide Civic Education Challenge to Inspire Students Before America’s 250th

The Civic Star Challenge will provide educators with free, adaptable resources that make the Declaration’s principles accessible and relevant to students today. Materials include lesson plans, primary source activities, videos, and games that can be used in any subject area—inside or outside the classroom. Themes range from sovereignty and the social contract to natural rights, and “life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness.”
Educators who participate will be eligible for more than $200,000 in prizes through a mix of drawings, school grants, and national recognition. The goal is simple: inspire millions of acts of civic learning and help students see the enduring relevance of the Declaration’s ideas.
“The country’s semiquincentennial provides a once-in-a-teaching-lifetime opportunity to engage students in the Declaration of Independence’s 250-year legacy.”
Ken has a longstanding commitment to strengthening American freedoms, promoting civic engagement, and working to make government more effective, including through recent gifts to the National Constitution Center, National Medal of Honor Museum Foundation, Call of Duty Endowment, and Navy SEAL Foundation.
